Websites built properly for Melbourne small businesses

I build hand coded websites for tradies, local shops, and service businesses across Eltham, Greensborough, Preston, and the wider north. The goal is simple: a site that looks credible, loads without making people wait, and makes it easy to call or enquire.

You deal with me directly. No account manager, no offshore team, no template dragged together in an afternoon. If you want to see the kind of work I do, have a look at the reviews.

What I actually build

Brochure style business websites: home, services, about, contact, the usual pages a local business needs. Each site is written in HTML and CSS from scratch. I do not use WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, or any drag and drop builder.

That is a deliberate choice. Builders and WordPress sites tend to carry plugins, databases, and update cycles you have to stay on top of. A static site has less to go wrong, loads faster out of the box, and is harder for someone to break into. For most small businesses in Melbourne, that is a better fit than a CMS they will never log into.

Need to sell online? That is a separate Shopify build, quoted from $6k. It is not part of the standard monthly website plan.

How a project runs

We start with a conversation about what you need, who your customers are, and what you want the site to achieve. I will tell you honestly if a five page site is enough or if you are better off with something bigger.

From there I handle design and build. You send content and photos when you can. I will chase you if things stall, but the timeline is mostly in your hands. Most sites go live within two to four weeks. Straightforward jobs with everything ready can be faster.

Changes go through email. Monthly plan clients get unlimited edits. Lump sum clients own the site once it is paid for and can add an edits package if they want ongoing help. Details are on the pricing page and in the FAQ.

Why speed and simplicity matter

People do not wait around for slow websites. If yours takes ages on a phone, they hit back and call the next business on the list. A lean, well built site keeps more of those visitors long enough to read what you do and tap your number.

Speed helps with Google too, though it is not magic on its own. Google prefers sites that work well on mobile and do not waste people's time. If you are running Google or Facebook ads, a fast landing page also means fewer clicks wasted on people who gave up before the page loaded. I can help with ads as well if that is part of the picture. See lead generation and paid ads.

After launch

A new website is the foundation, not the whole job. If you want to show up when someone searches "plumber Eltham" or "accountant Preston", you will probably need ongoing SEO: suburb pages, a solid Google Business Profile, content that matches what people search for. I do that work too. It sits alongside the build rather than being bolted on by a stranger halfway through.

I have location pages for areas I work in, like web design in Eltham, Greensborough, and Preston, if you want a sense of how local landing pages fit in. Broader SEO is covered on the SEO services page.

Is this a good fit?

Best suited if you want a proper website, you are happy to communicate by email or phone, and you would rather talk to the person doing the work. Less suited if you need a complex web app, a huge content team, or an agency with twenty specialists on call.

Packages start at $3,800 upfront or $180 per month with $0 upfront, both ex GST. If that sounds about right, get in touch and tell me what you are working with now.
